There are six routes from Matheson Lake, with two start points. The Pearson College routes start at the Galloping Goose Trail parking lot off Rocky Point Road. All other routes start at the Matheson Lake Regional Park parking lot on Matheson Lake Park Road.

- Matheson Lake Pearson College (bypass route) 5 km. This pleasant wooded route follows trails in and around Matheson Lake. Trail rating is 2B. Start point is the Galloping Goose Trail parking lot off Rocky Point Road
- Matheson Lake Pearson College (bypass route) 10 km. The 10km route also passes a large waterfall at Pearson College and takes in the magnificent view from the top of the observatory. Trail rating is 2C. Start point is the Galloping Goose Trail parking lot off Rocky Point Road.
- Matheson Lake, 2 Peaks, Cedar Grove Trail 10 km. This somewhat hilly route affords magnificent views from two vantage points and incorporates the Cedar Grove Trail, with its ancient cedar trees. Trail rating is 3C.
- Matheson Lake, Cedar Grove, Roche Cove 10 km. This route follows trails to Roche Cove and back to the start point, incorporating the Cedar Grove Trail. Trail rating is 3C.
- Matheson Lake Metchosin Wilderness 5 km. This route follows the Galloping Goose and other trails in the Matheson Lake and Metchosin Wilderness areas. Trail rating is 2B.
- Matheson Lake Metchosin Wilderness 10 km. This route incorporates Wayne's Rock, as well as many trails in the Metchosin Wilderness trail network. Trail rating is 2C.
